Maria Auxilium Christianorum ora pro nobis

The Basilica of Mary Help of Christians of Turin-Valdocco is frequented by thousands of pilgrims from Italy and abroad. This is particularly visible during the Feast of Don Bosco and Mary Help of Christians. The Salesians, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the many friends of Don Bosco and the whole Salesian Family look with particular affection at this Basilica.

In the course of time, according to the spirit of the founding Saint, it has become a center of irradiation of Marian spirituality and of the propagation of that Preventive System which places the sacraments of the Eucharist and reconciliation at the center of educational growth.

Musical Animation

The aspect of the musical animation is an important part of the spiritual mission of this Basilica, coherently with Don Bosco’s educational ideal, which immediately inserted musical courses (both singing and instrumental) into the formative program of the nascent Valdocco Oratory. The Basilica uses a precious Tamburini organ, a polyphonic choir, and hosts various musical initiatives throughout the year, to foster dialogue between Christian spirituality, culture and art.
From 8/9/2016 the various musical activities are coordinated by the maestro di cappella Don Maurizio Palazzo.
